General Manager, Sydney Masonic Centre
Paul has held the position of General Manager at the Sydney Masonic Centre since 2018. During his tenure at SMC Paul has managed the Centre’s most significant refurbishment in its 40-year history, the listing of the building on the States heritage register, navigated the team through Covid with 100% retention and bounced out the other side intact.
Previously Paul was the Business Manager of the Major Events and Festivals Team at the City of Sydney, and prior to that the Technical, Production and Design Manager at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. In early roles Paul was a Lighting Designer and Technical Director in Regional Theatre and a Lecturer in Stage and Production Management.
Paul is passionate about venues, events and production and is a current Board member of Meetings Events Australia (MEA) and a past President of the International Special Event Society, Sydney Chapter. Paul holds Masters of Business Management and Bachelor of Creative Arts and is a huge supporter of new talent and young people entering the events and production industry.
